The Subaru Forester has a long-standing history of being a capable, functional crossover with great features. For 2025, the Forester brings its sixth generation online with enhanced appeal from end to end with a complete redesign to the model.
Performance
While the 2024 and 2025 Forester crossovers are visually different, they are almost identical under the hood. Both model years come with a four-cylinder, 2.5-liter boxer engine. All trims have a continuously variable transmission with all-wheel drive. Most trims for 2024 and 2025 also have paddle shifters on the steering wheel. Notably, the 2025 Forester has a stiffer frame for enhanced handling and also introduces an upgraded steering system.
Appearance
The Forester has robust dimensions for both model years, with a tall profile and sleek sides. For 2025, the sides have added definition around the fenders with a modernized window shape and a newly stylized aggressive front grille and fascia. In 2024, the angled grille and flared bumper fascia created an hourglass shape. The LED headlights had a diamond shape with a spin-off accent.
