​​Forester and Crosstrek Named Consumer Reports 10 Top Picks for 2025​

Subaru’s trophy case keeps on filling up. We’re very proud of our award-winning lineup of vehicles offering all-wheel drive standard and earning the highest crash testing and safety awards thanks to our EyeSight Driver Assistance Technology. 

However, there is one authority we look up to when it comes to honors and accolades—Consumer Reports. The non-profit consumer testing and evaluation organization puts everything on the line when it comes to consulting its members on which products are best. 

We celebrate their repeat honor by naming the 2025 Subaru Forester and Crosstrek among the 2025 Annual 10 Top Picks in the Subcompact SUV and Compact SUV segments, respectively. This marks the second year in a row for both models. It also marks the twelfth consecutive year for the Forester.  

Earlier this year, Subaru was also named Consumer Reports’ best mainstream automotive brand and the most reliable automotive brand. Along with the 2025 Forester and Crosstrek, they also recommend the 2025 Ascent, BRZ, Impreza, Legacy, Outback, and WRX to consumers. The 10 Top Pick awards add to the organization’s love for our vehicles.  

In order to earn the 10 Top Picks designation, the Consumer Reports staff scores each vehicle based on their road test results, vehicle reliability, and satisfaction rankings that have been compiled through an owner’s survey. Also taken under consideration is industry crash test performance. Each vehicle must be equipped with Automatic Emergency Braking. The vehicle in each segment obtaining the highest overall score will be named one of the 10 Top Picks for that year.  

Subaru’s 2025 Crosstrek and Forester are also sales leaders for many good reasons. With standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and EyeSight Driver Assistance Technology, both vehicles have a high reputation for keeping their occupants safe from harm on any surface or condition. They also ride on higher ground clearance than their counterparts in their respective segments to manage even tougher terrain on the way to wherever they go.  

The 2025 Crosstrek’s small footprint makes it a maneuverable vehicle for adventures in town and up in the mountains. It also offers great value across the board, including the go-anywhere Wilderness model. A hybrid driveline will arrive by the end of the year for 2026. 

If you are looking for more space for activities, the newly redesigned 2025 Forester has plenty of it.
