Subaru is no different in how it makes its owners and fans happy with subtle easter eggs. These eggs not only make people feel good about their purchase but also bring positive attention to a brand’s history.

The Drive Finds Out What All the Easter Eggs Mean

This is the case with the 2025 Subaru Forester, which features multiple easter eggs, as pointed out by Andrew Collins from The Drive, with the help of their former editor, who now works for Subaru. When Collins reached out to Aaron Cole, former editor and current Product Communications Manager for Subaru, he gave him the full rundown of all of the unique features, saying, “All interior protection accessories on Forester, including the all-weather floor liners, rear cargo tray, rear seatback protectors, rear cargo area side panel protectors and the front and rear door panel scuff protectors have topographical map patterns with Easter eggs buried in them. The mud flaps do too.”

What Do the Maps Point To?

Those topographical map patterns are from maps of different National Parks around America. The front floor mats and front door panel scuff protectors denote the coordinates for Olympic National Park. The rear floor mats and door scuff protectors are for the Great Smokey Mountains National Park. The cargo area tray, side panel protectors, and rear seatback protectors are a nod to Cuyahoga National Park. Last but not least, the mudflaps have the markings for the start and finish markers of stages 6 and 7 of the Ojibwe Forests Rally at the Paul Bunyan State Forest. That rally is very special to Subaru as it is Travis Pastrana’s favorite rally. Travis Pastrana is an 11-time gold medalist at the X Games in Motorcross and Rallycross.

Other Little Touches

Outside of the specific coordinate details, the new Forester also features paw prints, boot prints, along with a compass on the kick panels. Obviously, the paw prints are a special nod to the company’s long history with animal charities. Also, some of the windows feature small birds.

Subaru Owners Love A Good Outdoor Adventure

Subaru isn’t the first and certainly won’t be the last carmaker to hide little details for fans to find. It does make it very meaningful and unique that the easter eggs they’ve included on the new Forester all have to do with beautiful places you can easily visit in your Subaru, along with unique interests that are typical of Subaru owners, such as their love of pets, wildlife, and adventure.
