​The 2026 Subaru Impreza Delivers Affordable All Wheel Drive Fun​

The Subaru Impreza is more than just our most affordable compact hatchback with Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. It is a practical and sporty way to get around town and across the Rockies. For 2026, the Impreza comes in Sport and RS hatchbacks. These two trim levels reflect what customers see in our compact offering – style that is packed full of fun.  

The newest feature for 2026 is Auto Vehicle Shutdown. To reduce stress on the engine after extended idling, this feature will shut off your 2026 Impreza after 30 minutes. This not only saves fuel, but it will prevent the engine from being left on accidentally.  

All 2026 Impreza models get the award-winning EyeSight Driver Assist Technology. Subaru has added Emergency Lane Keep Assist when equipped with Blind-Spot Detection and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert. This feature assists with steering control by scanning traffic in the adjacent lanes to help avoid accidents during a merge at highway speeds.

The 2026 Impreza Sport packs the 152-horsepower 2.0-liter BOXER engine underneath the hood. Not only does it perform well when you need it, it also returns outstanding fuel economy – up to 34 MPG on the highway.  

It is also equipped with a long list of standard features, including the 11.6-inch Starlink Multimedia Plus infotainment touchscreen system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. You can also engage the standard SI-DRIVE engine performance management system for better acceleration. For convenience, Keyless Access with Push-Button Start is also part of the 2026 Impreza Sport’s offerings.

The 2026 Impreza RS gets the upgraded and revised 180-horsepower 2.5-liter BOXER engine. It is now attached to a Lineartronic Continuously Variable Transmission with an eight-speed manual mode available through steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters. There is a set of 18-inch alloy wheels in a dark gray finish, along with black finishes on the front grille, side spoilers, and side mirrors. If you want to brighten up your day, choose your 2026 Impreza Sport or RS in the new premium Citron Yellow Pearl paint color.  

You also get plenty of upgraded touches inside the 2026 Impreza RS. You are greeted with trim accents in gunmetal and simulated carbon fiber. The front seats get more support to go with the black cloth upholstery with red cloth bolsters. A leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter add more of a sporty vibe to your 2026 Impreza RS, along with aluminum-alloy pedal covers. Additional standard equipment includes a wireless phone charger and illuminated USB-A and USB-C charging ports in the rear center console.
