Top 5 Highlights Of The 2025 Forester

Last November, in its National Parks-themed display at the 2023 LA Auto Show, Subaru revealed the 2025 Forester. The 6th generation Forester features new technology, enhanced handling, and an all-new interior design. The exterior design is also new, though its practical proportions and large window area render it still immediately recognizable as a Forester. The 2025 Forester trim levels include Base, Premium, Sport, Limited, and Touring trim levels. Here are Twin Falls Subaru’s five biggest takeaways from the new Forester.
All-New Exterior
The signature Subaru hexagon-shaped grille is bolder and features the debut of the updated Subaru star-cluster badge. Flanking the grille are reshaped LED headlight clusters. Subtle details to increase aerodynamic efficiency are throughout, including functional vents behind the front fenders that enable air to escape from the front wheel wells. The near-vertical tailgate allows tall boxes or other large items to be loaded almost to the cargo floor’s edge. The proportions of the Forester carry on with the same 105.1-inch wheelbase and just a half-inch greater overall length.
Improved dynamics
Behind the styling is a complete inner frame construction with stronger welds and close to four times the application of structural adhesive for a 10% increase in torsional rigidity, yet with lighter structural weight. The stiffer body allows more significant suspension fine-tuning for an improved ride and a quieter cabin.
SUBARU STARLINK® Multimedia System
All but the base trim level of the 2025 Forester will come standard with the SUBARU STARLINK® Multimedia system. This features the prominent 11.6-inch portrait configured touchscreen and the convenience of wireless Apple CarPlay® and wireless Android Auto™. If you have enjoyed using either of these interfaces using a wired connection, you know how easy it is to leave your phone in the car. Now, the system will work with your phone, never leaving your pocket or purse.
The available TomTom® navigation system is now equipped with what3words location identification system. What3words divides North America and much of the rest of the world’s land masses into approximately 10’x10’ squares, each of which is identified by three entirely random words. For example, if you are to meet someone at Shoshone Falls Park and they have the system – which is available as a smartphone app – they can tell you they are at “quaint.equals.shoebox”. Enter that in the Forester’s navigation system, and it will take you to exactly where they are. Besides parks, the system is beneficial for finding any rural location or a specific location in a large parking lot.
Enhanced EyeSight®
The 2025 Forester will come with an update of Subaru’s award-winning EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology. Thanks to newly updated software and a more expansive view from the camera and sensors, the system is smoother, quicker, and can more quickly identify cyclists and pedestrians at intersections. An added feature is Emergency Stop Assist, which monitors driver responses while using Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control. If the driver is unresponsive, the system will stop the vehicle, activate the hazard lights, and unlock the doors.

New Features and Enhancements
The Forester now offers a kick sensor-activated Hands-Free Power tailgate, which enables you to raise the tailgate when approaching the vehicle with your hands full. Inside, the car is more comfortable in multiple ways. The seats are designed with increased support for improved overall comfort and reduced fatigue after long drives. The front seat backs feature narrower shoulder areas for improved visibility and access to the rear seats. As a true sign of how Subaru pays attention to how their customers use their cars, the headliner is now black to better camouflage the inevitable scuff marks from loading cargo. Above the headliner is a 39% reduction in noise from the roof panel with additional sound dampening throughout the cabin. Standard across the model line is a Rear Seat Reminder that helps prevent child and pet entrapment by alerting the driver to check the rear seat before exiting the vehicle.
The Forester has been one of Subaru’s best-selling models for nearly 30 years, with more than 2.6 million vehicles sold in the U.S. alone. So Subaru knows well what to change and what to leave alone. You can expect to see the 2025 Forester inTwin Falls Subaru’s showroom and inventory in the Spring of 2024.
