What’s New For The 2025 Subaru Crosstrek

March 5th, 2025 by

The Subaru Crosstrek debuted as an all-new model for the 2024 model year; because of that, the 2025 Crosstrek sees minor updates, especially since the 2024 model was pretty much perfect. That’s not something we’re making up; pretty much every automotive authority out there said it. But let’s talk about what will set the Crosstrek apart for 2025.

What’s New, Pussycat?

Firstly, nothing has been taken away for the new model year. Instead, Subaru has made the dual-function X-MODE® along with Hill Descent Control standard on the Premium trim level, and a unique new color called Daybreak Blue Metallic is available for $325. Subaru has also announced pricing for each trim, which will increase just a little bit over the 2024 model. Below is a list of all prices, including how much of a change it is over last year:

  • Base: $27,115 ($825)
  • Premium: $28,365 ($925)
  • Sport: $30,915 ($625)
  • Limited: $32,815 ($625)
  • Wilderness: $33,915 ($625)

Engines, Trim Levels, and Fuel Economy

The 2025 Crosstrek Base has a 2.0-liter Subaru Boxer 4-cylinder that puts out 152 horsepower and 145 lb-ft of torque that will deliver 27 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway. Opting for the Premium, Sport, Limited, and Wilderness trims adds a 2.5-liter Boxer 4-cylinder that produces 182 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque and will achieve just one less mpg on both cycles than the Base trim level. The Crosstrek Wilderness, a model made to live in the woods or on a trail, will get 25 city and 29 highway, which is still very good when you consider that it prefers to take the path less traveled. The Crosstrek Base gets a standard 7-inch touchscreen infotainment display, while all other models get an 11.6-inch touchscreen display.

Safety Is the Most Important Detail

Since its debut in 2013, the Crosstrek has been an Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) Top Safety Pick or Top Safety Pick+. The crossover also features an advanced array of safety features, such as the award-winning EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology. This technology includes Pre-Collision Braking, Automatic Emergency Steering, Pre-Collision Throttle Management, Lane Departure and Sway Warning, Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Advanced Headlights (LED headlights that move with the steering wheel), DriverFocus, Reverse Automatic Braking, and Blind Spot Detection. Cars.com has also given the Crosstrek an A rating across the board in their infamous Car Seat Check, which tests every type of child car seat there is and finds out how easy or difficult it is to get them placed correctly.
