WRX TR Revealed at Florida Subiefest

October’s Florida Subiefest at the Daytona International Speedway was a great event that drew Subaru enthusiasts from throughout the Southeast to the famed racetrack. Once there, they showed off their cars and browsed the aftermarket vendors, while some participated and others watched the Autocross runs, among other activities. Subaru also chose this event to unveil their new WRX TR model. With enhancements to the braking, suspensions, and steering systems, this will be the top WRX in the lineup. Twin Falls Subaru is here to give you the details.
Confidence Building Braking System
The standard WRX braking system is no slouch, but the TR ups the game with a high-performance Brembo® braking system featuring 6-piston front calipers up front and 2-piston calipers for the rear, all painted a bright red. The brakes feature larger pads, larger rotors, and a larger master brake cylinder. Greater stopping power, reduced fade resistance, and a more precise pedal feel are all outcomes of this new braking system.
Modified Suspension Tuning and Bridgestone’s Finest
Enhancements to the suspension were intensive, including stiffer springs and revised damping rates for improved body control. The steering rack was retuned to accommodate the revised suspension. The model features new 19-inch alloy wheels wearing 245/35 R19 Bridgestone Potenza S007 tires, which is Bridgestone’s Max Performance Summer tire initially developed as original equipment for the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta.
EyeSight Meets Manual
Subaru’s acclaimed EyeSight Driver Assist Technology has broken through the manual transmission barrier in the new WRX TR. Consequently, the model with its standard six-speed manual now also comes standard with:
- Adaptive Cruise Control
- Pre-Collision Braking System
- Lane Departure and Sway Warning
- Lead Vehicle Start Alert

Inside, the range-topping WRX TR is equipped with Recaro front seats providing a high level of support for the driver and front passenger. The seats feature a Y-shaped design at the center of the backrest that ensures the sides and shoulder blades of the occupant are securely supported to maintain proper driving posture. The seats’ gray Ultrasuede® surface is comfortable while it holds you in place. Their shape, plus contrast stitching and the Recaro logo embossed on the seatbacks, make a visual impression as well. The driver, meanwhile, enjoys 8-way power adjustment.
The WRX TR will have the latest version of the Subaru STARLINK system with the 11.6 multi-media touchscreen and wireless compatibility for both Apple CarPlay® and Android AutoTM. There is also a 4-month trial period for both Sirius XM® and SiriusXM Travel Link®, which gives you up-to-date information on weather, fuel location & prices, and other useful travel information.
For performance reasons, power moonroof will not be available on the TR. This reduces weight and lowers the center of gravity since that weight was at the very top. It also increases room for a helmeted driver on track days.

Subaru saw little reason to adjust the 2.4-liter turbocharged Subaru BOXER® engine, which produces the same 271 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque from 2,000-5,200 rpm as other WRX models. Active Torque Vectoring is also standard across the model line.
Pricing for the WRX TR was not announced at its Subiefest reveal and can be expected to be announced later this year. The model itself can be expected to arrive at Twin Falls Subaru in early Spring of 2024.
